Summer Tote Bag #1

I feel like we have been awaiting this warm weather for sooo long. :) Time to put away the winter sweaters and coats and pull out t-shirts, shorts and skirts. Especially, if you have two little Girls in the house. :)

Before the Baby #3 comes, I have a long to-do list as far as sewing goes. I started with a tote bag. New season, new bag - sounds good, right? :) ( Well, any reason for a new bag is good to me :) ).
As a follower of  Skip to My Lou blog I am familiar with her great tut on making a tote bag. It is fast and so versatile. I used it to whip up this bag in no time:

It went together so fast that I knew I will be making more, slightly altering the dimensions. And I did, but I will share it in the next post. :)

I added a turquoise flower ( of course:) ) as an embellishment. I love how it turned out!

If you have your favorite tutorial for a tote bag, please share it in the comments!
Thank you for looking!

Ruffle shirts for two Little Daisies

We all have seen Sachiko's from Tea Rose Home tutorial on refashioning a plain t-shirt into a romantic ruffle shirt. I have been meaning to give it a try for some time now. Well, I finally got my courage to do it :).

My daughters love girly clothes and dress-up so I decided to use the tutorial and make the ruffle shirts for them.

I had to adjust the ruffle lengths. I also added shirred bottoms.

A perfect pair of Spring/Summer shirts for my two Little Daisies:).

Infinity Scarf Fashion

I was looking for an inexpensive knit jersey, having a circle aka infinity scarf in mind.  I found a brown remnant of it on sale in Joann's. It was perfect for my scarf idea, because it didn't even require cutting. I just stitched the ends together and done!

Maybe the color is not exciting ( like honeysuckle :) ), but it goes with so many accessories and outfits.

The other great thing about this scarf is that you can wear it few different ways.

1. long

2. doubled around your neck

3. as a wrap covering your arms

4. as a wrap covering your chest

5. hooded cowl

You can add a flower brooch or a long necklace and change the mood in a jiffy!

It truly is an Infinity Scarf :).

I hope you enjoyed my little fashion show:).

My easy-to-make decorative wreath

Recently I have been seeing a lot of yarn wreaths on the net. They are so lovely! Having lots of different fabric flowers on hand - I decided to put them in use and make my own wreath:)
I just love the plum color (so trendy this season), but possibilities are endless! I am thinking about making one in turquoise :)

Update: Check out my new tutorial on how to make an easy wreath!

How to use fabric flowers

I have become quite the fabric flower fanatic. I make them whenever I have the chance. From frayed cotton rosettes, to felt poppies, to satin yo yos. I have tons!
So what do you do now? After making hair accessories for my daughters ( who by the way won't leave the house without them:)), applying them to several of my Fall season outfits and playing with new trendy ideas for home decor, I have decided to make a list. A list of all the uses for fabric flowers I can think of. I have counted 30 of them!
Here they are:
1.headbands
2.brooches
3.bracelets
4.necklaces
5.bobby pins
