Home Decor Part2 - Paper flowers

Today's feature is another embroidery hoop project. As a part of celebrating the arrival of our son, I made a hanging decor with paper flowers and a butterfly.

The flowers are time consuming but very easy to make. Using Fiskars Paper Edgers cut a spiral and roll it into a flower. I used a yellow paint inside to give them more dimension.

A butterfly was a must. :) I use butterfly stamps and die cuts whenever I can. :)

I hope you enjoyed this project and will make your own.

The Best Friends Card

Discovering new things is exciting and inspiring. Especially for a beginner scrapbooker and paper crafter. :) When I got a white chalk ink at JoAnn's store the other day, I had no idea how to use it. I just started stamping on different colors cardstock paper scraps. It turns out that white chalk ink stamps beautifully on dark colors ( reminder - I am a beginner here:) ).
Inspired by that, I created the following card:

I stamped the border on teal cardstock and using Fiskars' Victorian edge scissors - I finished decorating the background piece. I used two sizes of the same tag template to create the center of the card. I also stamped the butterflies with chalk ink, which peaks from underneath the cut out ones. :)

This card celebrates the friendship that my Husband and I share. I am the luckiest woman in the whole world to have my Husband as my BEST FRIEND. :)

Thank-you card

So here is the deal. Not too long ago I found an amazing blog: www.lollychops.com. Lolly, the owner, is an amazing crafter and designer. And she is absolutely hilarious! Just watch her tutorial videos! :) I love her butterfly projects. I spent a lot of time going through her archives and that's when the world of paper crafts opened infront of me :)
Since then I found lots of great websites and  blogs and learned techniques, like paper piecing and stamping. I decided to give it a shot and made this card.

Not bad for a first one, huh? :) I love the freshness and Spring-y feeling of this card.
